The main aims of KIMS
are to enhance the level of competence of health professionals, enabling
them to keep abreast of the developments in the medical specialties and
patient management; prepare graduates in the health professions for specialization
in the different branches of medicine; provide facilities and opportunities
for continuing professional development, and monitor progress and achievement.
KIMS
is engaged in a variety of activities aimed at achieving the following
objectives:
- Formulating the
general policy for training doctors and other health professionals in
different fields of specialization, and supervizing the implementation
and the evaluation of the training programs;
- Designing and monitoring
the implementation of professional training for graduates who have obtained
basic medical qualifications;
- Initiating and
coordinating the implementation of programs for specialty training at
various levels for medical practitioners and other health professionals;
- Planning and conducting
activities aimed at continuing professional development for health professionals
in Kuwait;
- Awarding of certificates
for trainees who have successfully completed designated training programs
in the specialties in medicine.
